What is the recall related to?The recall is on select Murano SUVs and Maximas. A seal on several of these vehicles has malfunctioned, causing leakage of brake fluid.
Which vehicles are affected? Currently, only 2015-2017 Muranos and 2016-2017 Maximas are the only vehicles being affected at this time.
How will I know if my vehicle is affected? Nissan sent a letter to affected drivers earlier in September. However, if you would like to look your vehicle up to see if it is one of the Nissans affected by the recall, please click here.
Is there a risk in driving the vehicle? The risk entails the seal breaking completely and the leaking brake fluid getting on the vehicle's circuit board. Since brake fluid presents a flammability risk and because fluid on the circuit board could short it, it could potentially cause damage to the vehicle.
